COVID-19 Protocol (reviewed and revised every week)

Care Consultants/Managers follow this set of Procedures:

Arrive to client’s home. After ringing bell or knocking on the door, we step back to remove our mask (only long enough to smile and introduce ourselves).

After stepping into the home, we use a No Contact Thermometer to take our client’s temperature. We record the degrees. We have already taken our temp and recorded it prior to getting out of our car.

We put our items down as instructed by client and ask to wash our hands. We ask that paper towel be made available, if possible. We will carry our own as back-up.

We sit 6-10 feet away from our client and wear our mask. We ask the client to wear their mask as well, properly covering the mouth and pinched around the bridge of the nose. If necessary, we will provide a new surgical mask.

We use hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and gloves when deemed appropriate.

Additional PPE including face shields, head coverings and hazmat suits are available for our CareTeams

Masks are either:
N95s
KN95s
Level 3 Surgical
Other ECCC Approved

Face Shields remain optional except when providing direct personal care.

Gloves:
One time use while providing personal care. Removed properly and disposed.
Hand-washing must be adhered to upon arrival, departure and throughout the shift. We encourage every hour.

COVID-19 Testing Protocol

At the Start of Home Care Service, each CNA has been tested. Results are shared with ECCC and  with Client/Client Representative upon request. Repeat testing every 2-4 weeks as determined by ECCC and Client or Client Representative. The CNAs may choose the testing site. Cost will be free whenever possible or insurance covered.
